Forum Spam

Recently this forum has been getting a lot of forum spam in both posts and also private messages. We have begun taking action against this. We are not allowing new users to register unless they verify their email address.

If this does not seem to work we will require users to post 3 threads before private messaging and posting links are allowed.

The spammers were still spamming private messages, so I required additional verifications for private messages. I also got a plugin that would scan all new registering users for spam bot attributes.

Just to note, the private message spam came in the form of the title;
"Important message from the forum administration!" or anyone else declaring to be a admin.

Only "ipalaces" is the official admin. I have since banned anyone with the name "admin" in their name.
